Happening This Friday – 100 Men YEG

May 2, 2018

100 Men YEG recognizes that Mental Health Affects us all. One in five Canadians will suffer from mental illness at some point in their lifetime.  The Stigma around this illness is the number one reason why two-thirds of those living with a mental illness do not seek help. 40% of parents would not admit to anyone – not even their Doctor, that they had a child with a mental illness.

Through story and song, CRESCENDO ignites passion for the Edmonton community, including stories from prominent community members about how mental illness has touched their lives. It’s a night of endless entertainment and unparalleled emotion.

Come together to support breaking down stigmas surrounding mental health with the help of music. All of the proceeds from this incredible night go towards supporting the John Cameron Changing Lives Foundation to enhance and maintain our region’s mental health programs, from adolescence to adulthood.

Tickets are available from $99 -$300 with charitable receipts issued.

We need your help, one final push. We are 90% Sold. Starting today for every CRESCENDO purchase, the John Cameron Changing Lives Foundation will give you a pair of Singing Christmas Tree tickets. Please e-mail proof of purchase to info@johncameron.com

TAIT: Crescendo proves music is medicine
Help was mere inches away. But it felt like it was halfway around the world.

I live periodically with mental illness. When it arrives, often without announcing itself, I feel depressed and all alone. Insomnia also surfaces.

One such night was a little over a year ago when I went through several sleepless nights. I watched every minute turn into the next one. And as each new green-lit number passed, I felt more anxiety, knowing time was quickly passing before I had to get up, mask my downtrodden mood and extreme exhaustion, and try to stumble through another day, and complete all the obligations I am committed to.
